We are sourcing food from a growing range of shops including Steyning Co-op and other nearby Co-ops, Truffles, Tescos and Waitrose. A big thanks to them all for making this possible, and also to Fair Divide, the Wilson Memorial Trust and the Steyning Society for supporting the initiative. Any leftovers are distributed to other community organisations, such as the Upper Beeding Warm Hub, Croft Meadow Care Home, Vintage Years and Southdown Nursery. What to expect when you visit? A chance to pick up some fresh food that has just passed its best before date but is still good to eat. All for free! Our volunteers will give you a rough guideline of how much you can take with you. On an average day this might be something like; 2 bread products, 1 fresh fruit or veg product and something from the fridge. There could be any goodies in there from ready meals to ice-cream! We differ to a foodbank in that our goal is to stop food being wasted, so anyone and everyone who can take food away is warmly welcomed – you are helping us on our mission to prevent waste.
