Tracing the Rail Steyning Episode Release

At last, Episode Three, Part Two of Tracing the Rails, Steyning, is out on You Tube.

Presented by Stephen Cranford, with Transport Historian Mike Jaimes, Tracing the Rails began filming this captivating documentary on the Steyning Line back in early 2024, starting in Shoreham.

This, the second half of the Steyning episode was realised to Patrons of the series a month ago.

Walking the route of the old line Stephen and Mike explore what can be found today, what used to be there, and tie it all into local history, with many local people featuring in the show.

Director and editor, Chris Kirk works his magic with some stunning 'back in time' recreations of how things would have looked when steam trains puffed their way through the local landscape. The team have now moved up the line to film the Henfield and Partridge Green Episode.

Tracing the Rails is a not-for-profit project, rooted in the local community and based in Upper Beeding.

The project is funded by the team making it and the generous support of Patrons and local supporters.

Originally a fun project for friends with a passion for exploring the great outdoors, uncovering history and of course, old railways, half hour TV edits of Tracing the Rails can now be found weekly on Rewind TV on Sunday afternoons.
