The Pegloom Project

Upper Beeding artist and creative wellbeing specialist, Lou Partridge’s latest workshops promote environmental awareness  through the ancient craft of pegloom.

Old clothing too worn out for the charity shop can be woven into useful, beautiful and personal door mats giving the fabric a second lease of life.

Something to look at every day in your home knowing those old clothes didn’t go in the bin or rag recycling and off to who knows where.

Lou has designed many creative wellbeing projects through a career in rehabilitation working with those with sight and hearing loss, physical disability, mental health issues and adults with a learning disability.

Passionate about green lifestyle and wanting to do more to promote action around sustainable living Lou has decided to try to make a difference in a small way by incorporating creativity and sustainability into this exciting project.

Lou is offering local workshops and demonstrations.
