Steyning renewables installer shortlisted for major national award

Michael Paini of Option Energy Solutions Ltd in Steyning near Worthing has been shortlisted for Best Renewables Installer at the Heating Installer Awards 2026. As one of only six renewables installers to be shortlisted out of thousands across the UK, Michael now enters the final stages of the competition, where he’s in with the chance of being crowned the overall national winner.

To secure the shortlist, Michael entered the project he’d completed at The Old Lifeboat House on Lancing Beach. His client was renovating the building and was considering a heat pump alongside underfloor heating and radiators.

Michael was able to fit the technology requested and deliver a warm, cosy house for the homeowner despite contending with the uniqueness of the building, from its concrete walls and floors to a basement sunk into the ground.

Michael commented: “This project pushed me to calculate a huge amount of variables if I was to deliver the desired temperatures throughout without detriment to the heat pump. I was proud to be able to deliver this system and am happy with the results.”

His client added: “The system was designed properly for my home. The installation was clean, well thought through, and done by Michael and a team who cared about the quality of their work. I went in with high expectations, and they were met. I'd recommend this team without any hesitation.”

Established over 11 years ago to raise the credibility and celebrate the achievements of the best installers across the UK, the nationwide awards scheme champions heating installers who deliver exemplary work for homeowners month in, month out. Representatives from the awards’ partners and sponsors Danfoss, Powered Now, Samsung Climate Solutions, Stelrad, the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering, InstallerSHOW and Refresh, as well as a team of previous winning installers, judged the entries on problem solving, product knowledge and stand out work.

The winners will be announced on 24th June 2026 at InstallerSHOW, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC.
