Steyning Probus Club

Steyning Probus is a social club for semi-retired and retired men who wish to enjoy the company of similar people.

The Probus movement started in 1966 and this club was founded in 1989.

It currently has a membership of almost 50.

We meet at the Steyning Centre for a monthly lunch, which is followed by a speaker.

Recent talks have included The History of the Tower of London and Britain’s V-Bombers.

In the summer and at Christmas, we hold a special Ladies Lunch for our wives and partners.

The club also organises a programme of interesting and varied social events throughout the year.

These range from skittles matches and guided walks to trips on local waterways such as the Wey & Arun Canal and visits to the theatre. Forthcoming trips include a visit to the Houses of Parliament to meet our MP, Andrew Griffith and a day out in Guildford to see a performance of the Mousetrap.

We also organise weekends away. Members’ partners are welcome to join all these social events.

The club welcomes new members and if you might be interested, please contact our Membership Secretary, Robin Laidlaw on 07786 065077, [email protected] or check out our website www.steyningprobus.org
