In June this year the UK – and the world in general – will be celebrating the 70 years of service that Her Majesty The Queen has given to our country. A much loved and respected sovereign.

Steyning is up there with the rest and on Sunday 5th June will be celebrating with a Platinum Jubilee Street Party to be held on our own High Street. Plans for the occasion have been ongoing since January last year, with 140 tables and 840 chairs already hired by the Jubilee Committee, ready for the big day.

A Table Decorating Workshop has also been in progress for the last 4 weeks, with volunteers beavering away to produce a centrepiece for each table. The clothed tables & chairs will be available to book, with guests able to bring along their own picnic & drinks to enjoy with their family & friends. Some local eateries are offering the opportunity to purchase a ‘Pick up Picnic’ ordered ahead and ready to collect on arrival at the event. The occasion will start at 12:00 and finish around 15:00.

In 2012, the last time we held a Jubilee Street Party – that time a Diamond celebration – it was a sell out, so best to get your ticket purchased right now!
