2025 Climate Action Tracker Survey: How far have we got?
This is a crucial decade for stepping up action on climate and nature before it’s too late. That applies at the national and global level. But it is equally important at the individual level. We are all part of the problem, and we all need to be part of the potential solution. As we enter 2025 we are reaching the halfway point in the decade. So how much progress have we made in changing our behaviours and actions to reduce our impact on the planet?
Greening Steyning is carrying out an online survey to help find this out. It’s called the Climate Action Tracker Survey and it’s the third time we’ve run it.
We want to find what you and your household have been doing over the past two years to reduce your energy consumption, trim your carbon footprint, and be kinder to wildlife and nature. And we want to look ahead and learn what further steps you may be thinking of taking in the next two years – think of it as your New Year’s resolution for the planet!
The results from the previous survey in 2023 provide a baseline to compare with. At that time two thirds of respondents said they wanted to encourage wildlife in their garden. Half were intending to cut down on meat and diary. And a fifth were thinking of installing solar panels or getting an electric vehicle.
So what happened in practice? Has the pace of change picked up, and what is in people’s minds now? Are there barriers that are preventing action? And do you suggestions for how Greening Steyning can help you go further and faster? The Climate Action Tracker Survey is designed to find this out.
It should only take 5 minutes to fill out. Just go to: www.greeningsteyning.org/tracker
The Survey closes on Sunday 16th February, and is limited to one person per household.
