Unearthing the Past Archaeological Dig

Wednesday 1st July09:00 - 16:00

Come and help us carry out another archaeological excavation of the Targets area, at the far end of the Rifle Range on the Steyning Downland. The Dig will take place for 7 days from Wednesday 1st July to Wednesday 8th July. You can come every day or just for one day. The aim is to learn more about how the Rifle Range has been used over the years. The dig will be led by SDS volunteer Justin Russell, a qualified archaeologist with specialist knowledge of rifle ranges. The sessions are open for anyone to join in, no prior experience necessary. Booking is essential as places fill up fast! Because of the nature of the work, we only have capacity for 2 people to join the team each day. First come, first served! https://steyningdownland.org/sdsevents/
