The Honourable East India Company and East-West Trade (1600-1800)

Our first lecture of 2026 celebrates the remarkable role the East India Company played in developing cross cultural exchanges between East and West relating to textiles, wallpaper, porcelain and furniture, paving the way for Chintz, Chinoiserie and Chinese exports.

Our expert lecturer, Vivienne Lawes, is accredited by The Arts Society as well as an art historian, curator, author and journalist.
