Identifying Chalk Grassland Plants & Wildflowers

Saturday 20th June10:30 - 12:30

Discover the amazing variety of wild flowers that can be found on the Steyning Downland, with local botanist and SDS volunteer, Jane Willmott. Chalk grassland is one of the most biodiverse habitats in the UK, supporting up to 40 different plant species in just one square metre. Jane leads our botany surveys each year and will help you identify all sorts of classic downland wild flowers, with wonderful old names such as 'Bird's-foot Trefoil' and 'Lady's bedstraw'. https://steyningdownland.org/sdsevents/
